In 1990 one simple company was started called “Techstream Software Company”. We were a one man show that provided custom software applications for many different businesses. With expansion, a widening client base and a change to our service offerings we are now “The Techstream Group of Companies” offering services in Print and Procurement Management, Software Development, Printing and Warehouse Logistics and Fulfillment.
Our flagship application The Virtual Procurement System (VPS) was conceived in the latter part of 1998 as a simple solution to a manual, paper based process that was in place at a client location. VPS began as a very simple web based solution that quickly became a critical management tool and was formalized as an application in 2000. Since that time it has undergone an evolution as new requirements arose and new technologies emerged. Currently in version 3.0 a new version of VPS labeled 4.0 will be launched later this year.
With our experience in the print industry we began developing applications to address online ordering of printed materials which lead us to develop our own print on demand and dynamic content engine. This system began its existence in 2002 and had a focus on the distribution of static printed materials. We later introduced print on demand and then dynamic content generation. In addition to developing the front end tools we also developed the backend processes to support the production effort to reduce costs at the supplier with respect to proofing and prepress.
Our online ordering experience then led us down the path of inventory management and distribution which enabled us to offer warehouse and fulfillment services to our clients.
